Ibrahimovic nearly done, Pjanic & Griezmann interest, Messi enquiry and more – transfer rumours roundup

The main question on every United fans’ minds at the moment is: will United sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic? If so, when? Well, according to Sky Sports News, the Swedish international is set to join Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford before EURO 2016, which begins on Friday 10th June.

A report from Gianluca Di Marzio also stated that there are few doubts that Ibrahimovic is ready to link up with Mourinho again, so it seems that it is only a matter of time before it happens.

Ibrahimovic is waiting for Mourinho to respond with assurances of his role in the team, and we may also have to wait and see if the PSG striker’s agent, Mino Raiola, is satisfied with the deal.

Another player that Mourinho is targeting is AS Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic. Reports from Manchester Evening News and La Repubblica state that Pjanic is high up on Mourinho’s list of preferences.

The Repubblica report suggests that the player has a buyout clause of €38m, and could be available as early as July due to his nation, Bosnia and Herzegovina not being involved in the EURO 2016 tournament.

A move for Villarreal’s Eric Bailly could happen soon according to Cadena Ser, who state that talks between the two clubs are very advanced.

AS are also reporting the same story, who claim that an agreement between United and Villarreal has been reached for the player, and the Ivorian’s €40m release clause has been met.

A perhaps more outlandish report from the Daily Mail emerged last night, suggesting that United had made two enquiries over the last three weeks over the availability of Ballon d’Or holder Lionel Messi. They note that a move will ‘more likely’ occur in the 2017/18 season should Mourinho bring Champions League football back to Old Trafford, although it would take a near miracle to persuade him to leave Spain.

Lastly, according to ESPN FC, Jose Mourinho has reportedly stated his interest in Atlético Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann. The report states that the Frenchman is Mourinho’s prime target this summer.
