Eric Bailly to be José Mourinho’s first signing by Friday – reports

Villarreal’s Eric Bailly is set to become José Mourinho’s first signing as Manchester United boss, should he pass a medical which he took on Tuesday afternoon, as per the Daily Mail.

According to the report, the Ivory Coast international has arrived in Manchester to complete the finer details of his move after United and Villarreal agreed a fee for the 22-year-old.

Representatives of Bailly believe that the deal will be wrapped up by Friday.

Bailly is one of the most highly rated up-and-coming stars in La Liga, known for his pace, power and ability to bring the ball out of defence, albeit being prone to the odd error.

Villarreal are set to clear at least £25m in profit for the defender, after signing him for a mere £4.4m from Espanyol in January.
