Manchester United are preparing to make an improved offer for AS Monaco’s Fabinho, after PSG’s bid for the Brazilian was recently rejected by the Ligue 1 champions.
According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, United will now step up their efforts to bring the 23-year-old to Old Trafford.
United are more likely than PSG to sign the midfielder, as Monaco are understandably reluctant to sell one of their best players to a league rival.
Mourinho is reportedly becoming impatient with United’s lack of progress in the transfer window so far, so more deals could accelerate in the coming days.
Victor Lindelof was the 54-year-old’s first summer signing from Benfica, yet the manager is still to add more reinforcements to his squad.
United have also been heavily linked to Alvaro Morata and Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, yet Antonio Conte wants to add at least two more midfielders to his squad before letting the Serbian depart.
