United still have £100m waiting to be spent this summer

Even with Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku all tied up, Manchester United fans are already eagerly anticipating their next Summer recruit. In what was undoubtedly a successful Summer window last season, with all four arrivals having a major impact on the team, fans no doubt hold confidence in both Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward to get the business done for a second season in a row. With £100m having been spent on just the two recruits already, various sources are in fact revealing that the club have a further budget of £100m that is waiting to be spent.

According to both The Metro and The Express, Jose Mourinho is certainly keen to bring in further fresh faces with the hope of creating a bolstered squad, particularly with the Champions League to come next season. Speaking back in May, the Portuguese manager admitted that he had already handed over his top targets to the club’s vice-chairman and the deals were ultimately left in Woodward’s hands to sort out. It would be a fair assessment in stating that United fans are relatively happy with the two recruits so far, as both Lukaku and Lindelof strengthen areas in the squad that are severely lacking both depth and quality. Admittedly, barring his first season in this position, Woodward has rarely disappointed with transfer recruitment, as the club has certainly attracted big name stars such as, Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic etc on a consistent basis for the last 3 years.

Still, with the war chest that reportedly holds another £100m, fans should certainly be looking forward to United’s next official announcement with regards to their transfer news. If this money can bring in another two world class talents, then the squad will certainly be looking in a fit shape for the forthcoming season. Although the final business is still yet to be concluded, fans should hold confidence in United’s transfer policies for the time being.
