Manchester United to watch Santos wonderkid who has incredible goal record

Scouts from Manchester United are set to watch Santos striker Yuri Alberto next month ahead of a possible move, reports suggest.

Alberto, 16, has been selected to be part of the Brazil U17s squad that will play friendlies in England next month.

Arsenal and Roma are also reported to be interested in the youngster. Scouts from the London club are expected to watch the young striker as well.

The Brazilian teenager netted 53 goals in 35 youth matches for Santos, the same club that produced Neymar, in the 2016/2017 and is now looking to sign a professional contract.

While predominantly deployed as a centre-forward, Alberto is capable of playing on the wing and his playing style has been likened to that of compatriot Gabriel Jesus, the Manchester City attacker who burst onto the Premier League scene in January after arriving from Palmeiras.

United’s tracking of Alberto aligns with the club’s academy strategy of recruiting the top local talent and supplementing it with the best youth players from around the world.
