Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones has backed his club and international team-mate Marcus Rashford to become “a world-beater.”
Speaking with MUTV, Jones said of Rashford: “He’s a great lad off the pitch and, on it, he’s a special talent. He’s already special but he’ll be a world-beater one day, he’s that good.”
“He’s so quick, sharp, technically gifted, two-footed and a nightmare for defenders. You’ve seen it this season already, he’s given defenders nightmares.
“He’s an academy product and players from the youth system have done great over the last few years. He’s a special player and we’re lucky to have him.”
Rashford is off to a hot start in the Premier League this season registering 1 goal and 1 assist in his first 3 appearances.
United’s teenage attacking sensation has also made an impact in England’s recent 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia by registering 1 goal and 1 assist in the 2 matches.
England manager Gareth Southgate praised Rashford for his stunning strike against Slovakia, saying: “He had a huge impact on the game.”
