Manchester United transfer round-up: Half-price Griezmann, Martial attracting interest and more

According to the latest reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United could sign Antoine Griezmann for half of his current release clause next summer.

The Atlético Madrid forward currently has an eye-watering €200m release clause, yet this will be slashed to €100m on July 1, 2018, claim MD.

Griezmann was extensively linked with a switch to Old Trafford over the summer, yet decided to stay put in Madrid because of the club’s transfer ban, which meant that they would not be able to replace the Frenchman if he left Spain.

As a reward for his loyalty, the report suggests that Atlético are willing to accept a lower offer to give Griezmann his move, meaning United could be in store for a bargain next summer.

A report from the same outlet today is rather more bleak for United fans, however, as it features fan-favourite Anthony Martial.

MD claim that Barcelona are keeping tabs on United’s golden boy, and could move in for him next summer. Barcelona will reportedly monitor Martial’s playing time over the coming months, and if the Frenchman seems dissatisfied with his playing time, they will try and take advantage of this and bring him to La Liga.

Another story United fans will not want to read comes out of France, linking David De Gea with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Le10 Sport claim that PSG’s Qatari owners will put together an offer that the Spaniard cannot refuse next summer, in an attempt to lure him away from the Theatre of Dreams.

De Gea would be ideal in PSG’s eyes as they try to form their own version of the ‘Galacticos,’ yet as Real Madrid have experienced in the past few years, it isn’t easy to get him out of Manchester.
