Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to have a documentary released on MUTV in the near future, which has been created by the club’s award-winning documentaries team.

The 60-minute film will feature Mkhitaryan’s journey from playing on the streets of Armenia to under the lights of Old Trafford, and will include the story of the untimely and tragic loss of his father, who died of a brain tumour at the age of 33.

It was always Mkhitaryan’s dream to follow in the steps of his father and become a professional footballer, and the documentary will show every stage of his career, from FC Pyunik at the age of 17, to a pair of Europe’s elite clubs, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund.

Mkhitaryan, who is the first Armenian to join a Premier League club, has become a national icon in his home country, and the film, suitably titled ‘Micki: An Armenian Hero,’ will outline this.

A release date for the documentary is yet to be revealed, but it has been confirmed that the film will be shown first on MUTV.
