Manchester United are one of three clubs that Mesut Ozil would consider leaving Arsenal for, according to a source close to the player.

Although United are yet to firmly indicate their interest in his services, the English club alongside Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are the only clubs that the German playmaker is interested in going to after life at the Emirates comes to an end.

Arsenal are keen on extending Ozil’s current contract which is set to expire at the end of this season; however, the former Real Madrid midfielder’s wage demands have stalled negotiations.

Ozil is asking that his wage be increased by 30% from £154,000-a-week to £202,000-a-week to remain a Gooner – an ask that the Arsenal board currently considers too rich to grant.

The German international has a good relationship with current United manager Jose Mourinho from their time together at the Bernabeu and the feeling within the German’s camp is that Ozil needs a manager with Portuguese’s aggressiveness to help him rediscover his old form.
