Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij, and could enter the race to sign him in the summer.
The reports come from Italian outlet Tuttosport, who say that Juventus and Inter Milan are also lining up to bid for the Dutchman.
De Vrij is set to sign a new contract at the club, which would prevent him from leaving for free in the summer; the new deal will reportedly instate a €25m release clause, and would expire in 2019. This seems like nothing but a compromise from De Vrij and Lazio to stop him leaving on a free transfer.
Despite the new deal, the former Feyenoord centre-back is still expected to leave this summer, yet the Serie A giants queuing up for his signature could face stern competition from both Manchester clubs, if the reports from Italy are to be believed.
