Romelu Lukaku is usually the one getting on the end of his team-mate’s crosses, but in United’s most recent win over Chelsea, things were different.

The Belgian forward had already equalised for his side in the first-half, but when he found himself on the right-wing later in the game, picked out Jesse Lingard with an inch-perfect cross. The England international headed home to complete the comeback, pushing United back up to second in the table.

Although, what seemed to be a brilliant rare moment of wide play from Lukaku, was actually planned between the two players prior the game.

Speaking to MUTV, the 24-year-old said: “I told him before the game that every time I go down the sides he needs to make sure he’s in the box because I will find him. And he did well on the run and it was a great finish.

“We realised between us that if we played a bit quicker between the lines we would create space for ourselves and that’s what we did, and I was happy with the goal.”

Lukaku has been using his time off since the game to good effect, as he was seen court-side watching the Brooklyn Nets last night.
