Transfer Latest: Moussa Dembele, Donny van de Beek, Bruno Fernandes

According to Foot Mercato in Italy, Manchester United are lining up a £43 million bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele after finding out the full extend of Marcus Rashford’s injury.

The former Celtic and Fulham forward has 11 goals in 19 appearances this season for the French club and has been of interest of several Premier League clubs, with Chelsea being touted as a possible outfit.

Elsewhere, Manchester Evening News claim that United are looking into the signing of Edinson Cavani. According to the local outlet, Atlético Madrid are believed to be in pole position to sign the forward after he formally handed in a transfer request due to falling out of favor in the French capital.

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly want £25 million for the striker should a January move be made despite Cavani being out of contract in six months, meaning that PSG sanctioning a loan move would be highly unlikely.

“We’re studying the situation. We’ve had a proposal from Atletico Madrid, but that proposal was not commensurate with the player’s value,” says PSG sporting director Leonardo.

Donny van de Beek recently ruled himself out a move away from Ajax this January and Manchester United have now ‘admitted defeat’ in the chase of the young midfielder, according to Sam Meade of the Daily Star.

It wouldn’t be a transfer update without the latest on Bruno Fernandes, the shortest yet also longest saga out there, possibly.

Reports in Portugal reiterate claims from last week that the Portuguese club are not budging in their €70 million valuation. Fresh reports from TVI24 now claim that talks ‘have collapsed’ and that there are no signs of an agreement being reached between the two sides.

It is a complete u-turn from the Portuguese press after claiming that the deal was as good as done in the past week.

The Mirror go against the grain and claim that Bruno Fernandes ‘has told close friends’ that he’ll be joining Manchester United.
