According to Spanish outlet AS, Manchester United are set to confirm the arrival of Jose Mourinho as manager just hours after Saturday’s FA Cup final clash with Crystal Palace, no matter the result.
Mourinho will put pen to paper for a three-year-deal worth around €15million according to the report, and will be given the power to overhaul the squad in the summer.
Louis van Gaal has had yet another bleak season as United boss, and speculation about his future has been around since December, yet whether the announcement of the club’s next manager will be as soon as Saturday is yet to be seen.
The Dutchman’s poor relationship with the dressing room and unpopularity amongst fans seems to have taken its toll, meaning he will more than likely leave the club in the summer, even if he wins United’s first FA Cup trophy since 2004.
