Former United striker Dwight Yorke has named just four players that he believes are completely safe from being sold by newly appointed manager Jose Mourinho.
It is common knowledge that Mourinho wishes to conduct a squad overhaul at Old Trafford, meaning that some players will be forced out of the exit door – reports yesterday suggested that Daley Blind and Juan Mata were among the players on the 53-year-old’s hit-list.
However, Yorke believes there will be many places up for grabs in the upcoming season, as he thinks only David De Gea, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are safe from Mourinho’s axe.
He told 888Sport: “We obviously know about Juan Mata and Jose Mourinho. That hasn’t changed.
“There will be a few players under the microscope who aren’t Manchester United players who somehow got in there.
“They’ve under performed and no-one is safe apart from David De Gea, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney.
“Everyone in between will be looking over their shoulders.”
