Mata’s future at Man United has been in doubt since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, seeing as the Portuguese previously sold him during his second spell as Chelsea. It is thought that Mourinho wasn’t keen on the player’s work rate and his lack of tracking back.
If the Spaniard was to move to Fenerbahce, he would join ex-Manchester United players Robin van Persie and Luis Nani who grew out of favour under Louis van Gaal.
Mata’s place in the United team is split amongst Man United fans with some desperate for him to stay and show his true colours with others wanting him gone as soon as possible, deeming him a waste of wages/space.
Fenerbahce will be competing in the Champions League next season, an aspect that may lure Juan Mata to the Turkish club.
