“He wants to go to Manchester United,” says Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent

Just days after Borussia Dortmund insisted that midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not for sale this summer, his agent, Mino Raiola, has claimed that talks are still ongoing to ensure his release from the Westfalenstadion. In addition to this, Raiola claims that Manchester United are the “only club” that the Armenian international is interested in signing for.

One thing is for sure, which is that Mkhitaryan will not extend his contract at Dortmund, yet the club are keen on making him see out his deal, which concludes in 2017.

However, Raiola is “working very hard” to ensure that the 27-year-old gets his desired move, which is to work under José Mourinho at Old Trafford.

“He wants to go to Manchester United and we are still trying to resolve the situation,” said Raiola.

“We are still talking to Dortmund and working hard on this. We are trying to be reasonable. They are aware that Micki wants to leave now.”

Raiola has previously made comments on his client, and accused his current club of handling his situation poorly.

“Micki has for months maintained that he may leave the club this summer,” he said.

“Dortmund presented an official offer which was rejected, but now the club bosses fear their own fans. Suddenly they tell Micki, that he should go next season on a free transfer. This is very bad management.

“Manchester United is a unique opportunity, Micki wants to go there.”
