Manchester United lead race for Henrikh Mkhitaryan – reports

Manchester United are ahead of Arsenal in the ‘race’ for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Red Devils have reportedly offered a bid of €25m for the 27-year-old, which was rejected by the German club, as they want at least €40m for the player.

Mkhitaryan has one year remaining on his current contract at the Westfalenstadion, and despite not wishing to extend his contract at the club, Dortmund prefer not to sell him this summer.

Although Dortmund do not want to let Mkhitaryan go, his agent, Mino Raiola, has been very outspoken in recent days, saying that he will not give up on landing his client a dream move to Manchester.

If the Armenia international were to arrive at the club, it would probably mean the end of Juan Mata’s Manchester United career, as the two are deployed in similar areas of the pitch.
