Manchester United and José Mourinho told they must break world record fee for Paul Pogba

Manchester United have been told by Juventus that they will need to break the world record fee if they wish to sign French midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, reports the Telegraph.

United are understood to be in talks with the Italian club and Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola over a possible move, with Mourinho hoping to make the 23-year-old a ‘centrepiece’ to a new look side at Old Trafford.

The deal could end up making Pogba the first ever £100m footballer, as the report states the fee could stand anywhere between £90m-£110m.

The report also claims that the prospect of working under José Mourinho appeals to the midfielder, but he still holds reservations over moving back to United.

Pogba left Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2012, making these eye-watering fees even more bitter for the Red Devils.
