According to Globo Esporte in Brazil, Manchester United are negotiating the transfer of Fabinho from AS Monaco with the endorsement of José Mourinho. The player is close to leaving his club.
Fabinho admires Mourinho from their days at Real Madrid and would most likely been keen on a transfer to United. Previous reports have claimed that the player would cost around €25m, a good price for such a physical and hardworking full back that can also play in the centre of the midfield.
It is unknown what the signing would bring in terms of squad placement. There is the possibility that Fabinho could be a starter but also to challenge Matteo Darmian for the right-back spot. He is still quite young at the age of 22 so he would certainly have plenty of time to find his XI spot.
