Atlético Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has told United fans to expect the ‘spectacular’ from Paul Pogba, and has also said that Old Trafford is the perfect destination for his international team-mate.
The Red Devils re-signed Pogba for a reported world-record £89m fee, after the French midfielder left the club in 2012.
However, Pogba is most certainly back, and marked his return with an impressive full 90-minute debut against Southampton on Friday evening.
The eye-watering price tag that United paid for Pogba certainly puts a lot of pressure on the 23-year-old’s shoulders, but Griezmann believes that the fans of United will not be disappointed by their latest signing.
As reported by the Guardian, Griezmann said: “He loves that league. Manchester is the perfect club for him. With Mourinho they are making something new.
“I think the supporters in England won’t be disappointed. They can expect the spectacular from Paul.
“He deserves it. He works hard and has the talent to be such an important player.”
