Northampton defender Gabriel Zakuani has explained the calming influence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on his team-mates, and said that his voice reminds him of legendary film character The Terminator.
The League 1 defender was given the task of marking the Swede when he came on in the 60th minute of the 3-1 win for the Red Devils.
Ibrahimovic was brought on to break the deadlock at 1-1, and although he did not score or assist, Zakuani still insisted that his presence was influential to Mourinho’s players.
“He talks a lot on the pitch but he talks a bit like a robot, kind of like Terminator,” Zakuani told the BBC.
“It’s sort of in slow motion. You can see his influence on their team.
“He’ll tell a few of the players that are rushing past him to just calm down and relax on the ball.
“You can see straight away that he has the respect of everyone at the club.”
Ibrahimovic is expected to start in Manchester United’s next game, which is at Old Trafford on Saturday against Premier League champions Leicester City.
