Attacker agrees to join United and is awaiting fee to be decided between clubs

According to the latest reports from the Daily Telegraph, Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata has agreed to join Manchester United, and is waiting for a fee to be agreed between the two clubs.

United officially released Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Friday afternoon, and Morata seems to be the likely candidate to replace the Swede ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Morata, 24, was given his Real Madrid debut by José Mourinho, and wants to link up with his former coach once again in Manchester.

However, a fee is still yet to be agreed between Real Madrid and United, and this could take some time, as the Spanish club will not want to let the player go for anything significantly less than his £78m asking price.

Early reports suggested that David De Gea, who Madrid have chased for some time, would be included in the deal, yet the recent news suggests that the deal for Morata will only involve one player: Morata himself.

United hope that a bid in the region of £60m will be enough to convince Madrid to let the striker leave the club.
