West Brom manager Tony Pulis is reportedly planning a swoop for Manchester United defensive duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.
Pulis has previously signed players from United, with both Jonny Evans and Darren Fletcher joining him at the Hawthorns.
West Brom centre-back Gareth McAuley turns 38 in December, and Swedish stopper Jonas Olsson has already left the club, so Pulis is on the lookout for defenders to bolster his back line.
And, according to the Mirror, he is lining up an adventurous move for Jones and Smalling.
Mourinho brought Eric Bailly to Old Trafford last season, and he has since become a starter for the club. The Portuguese boss added Victor Lindelof to his ranks this summer, meaning that it is possible that one of Smalling or Jones could depart in the coming weeks.
Pulis and Mourinho share a good relationship, so this, along with the additions of Bailly and Lindelof to the squad, means a deal is more likely than ever to occur.
