According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester United are set to offer Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract in January.
Ibrahimovic suffered an ACL and PCL tear in the Europa League last season which sealed his fate at the club, with the Swede being released at the end of the 2016/17 season, after scoring 28 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils.
Everyone thought this was his first and last season at the club but according to these reports, it seems that United’s former number nine wants to stay on with the club and rejoin for the second part of the season after returning from such a cruel injury.
It was heavily reported that Zlatan was keen on moving to the MLS and joining LA Galaxy to see out the remainder of his career there but according to this report, Zlatan has, in fact, rejected a £6.5 million contract as he wants to link up with the Red Devils once more.
With the possibility of Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming back for a second spell, United’s striking options would be heavily boosted with just new signing Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford as the only real strikers in the squad.
