According to the latest reports from Don Balon, José Mourinho has told Manchester United to sign Barcelona star Sergi Roberto.
The Spanish outlet claim that Mourinho is a huge fan of the player, and suggest that the Portuguese boss is willing to give the player a significant pay-rise to lure him away from the Nou Camp.
Don Balon claim that Mourinho believes that Roberto is undervalued at Barcelona, with the 25-year-old failing to nail down a role in the starting eleven.
Roberto became an instant fan favourite in last season’s Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain, as his 96th-minute winner gave his side a historic win and sealed one of the greatest comebacks in European football’s history.
The Spaniard can be deployed as a full-back or anywhere across the midfield, yet reports claim that Roberto would prefer to play in a central-attacking role.
The midfielder has a release clause of £37.5m.
