Over the past few days, rumours concerning Zlatan Ibrahimovic moving to the MLS have been rife, with many outlets adopting the story that the forward has already put pen to paper with LA Galaxy.

Despite this, United boss José Mourinho has said that he believes there is ‘nothing true’ in these rumours, and that the former Swedish international is here to stay for the time being at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic enjoyed life in Manchester for his first season, contributing 28 goals in what was a remotely successful term under Mourinho, yet has dropped out of the picture somewhat following the summer acquisition of Romelu Lukaku.

Following his lack of playing time, mostly due to consistent injuries, exit rumours have swarmed the media, yet Mourinho believes he is going nowhere, as he has heard nothing from the player himself about leaving.

“I don’t speak with players about media news,” he said, reported by Sky Sports.

“I see him every day. I was with the fitness coaches today watching his work. He is with me before training, he is with me after training.”

“He never mentioned absolutely anything to me, not an opinion not a comment, absolutely nothing at all so I presume there is nothing true in the news.

“Because I suppose if there is any truth I would be the first to know from him, at least one question, but [I have heard] nothing at all so I presume [there is] nothing.”
