Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, and the player is reportedly tempted by the move, according to the latest reports from Alex Porter in the Manchester Evening News.

Kovacic, 23, is said to be hungry for more playing time and would welcome a move away from Madrid in order to achieve this aim. He is currently behind first-choice midfielders Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro in Zinedine Zidane’s midfield pecking order in Madrid this season.

Spanish newspaper AS reports United, along with Juventus, Inter Milan, and Tottenham, are monitoring the Croatian international’s situation at the Bernabeu.

United would certainly be able to offer Kovacic the regular playing minutes that he is looking for and the former Inter star reportedly wanted a move away from Los Blancos in the summer.

Kovacic has made only 1 start in 7 La Liga appearances for Madrid this season.
