Report: Marcus Rashford ruled out of Liverpool game

The shining light of Manchester United season so far has been two of the clubs own. Mason Greenwood has the third best goals per minute ratio in the Premier League this season, falling behind only Jamie Vardy and Sergio Aguero whilst Marcus Rashford has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, scoring 20 in his last 24 games for club and country.

Rashford scored twice in last weeks 4-0 rout over a struggling Norwich side and was substituted just after the hour-mark, presumably to save him for a substitute appearance against Wolves in the FA cup 4 days later, should that be needed.

An hour had passed in the cup replay with the deadlock yet to be broken, leaving Solskjaer with no choice to put his main man on. 15 minutes is all he lasted before taking a heavy knock to the back as well as one to the knee.

Manchester Evening News have now confirmed, just hours before kick-off against Liverpool, that Marcus Rashford was not spotted with the squad at the team hotel.

Rashford’s absence is a big blow for Solskjaer, who has already suffered heavy blows to important first team players this season. Anthony Martial missed two months with a hamstring injury, Paul Pogba has only made two appearances since September and Scott McTominay is also ruled out until March.
