Transfer News: United look to complete Jude Bellingham deal

It is will known that Manchester United are looking for reinforcements in midfield. Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba have both missed large parts of the season due to injury and Nemanja Matic wants to leave. That leaves just Fred and the youngsters.

Last week, news broke that United were willing to pay £15 million for Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham. According to The Athletic, Manchester United are looking to complete a January deal for the 16-year-old but that a £25 million price-tag could be a dealbreaker.

Mike Phelan was reportedly spotted watching Bellingham last month.

Bellingham has represented England at three youth levels and cemented his place in Birmingham’s first squad and could be according to the report, reluctant to drop down to reserves football.

Should a deal be made for the youngster, it is unrealistic to believe that he would break into the first team and might have to settle for a smaller role. However, would United be willing to pay up towards £25 million for him, it would only be a short matter of time before first-team appearances would be a regular occurance.
