Manchester United are closing in on the signing of 20-year-old goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, according to reports.
Many of the leading media outlets jumped on the reports on Wednesday after it became clear that the goalkeeper was leaving Southend United.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace were all interested in the player.
Bishop will sign a three-year contract with the club and join the team on the warm weather training camp next month.
Bruno Fernandes and Nathan Bishop are set to race for United’s first signing of the season with both deals set to be imminent to confirmation.
