Manchester United’s first game back set for June 19

Manchester United’s first Premier League game back is set to be on Friday June 19, when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur.

This is according to The Times, who also report that the game will be shown live on Sky Sports.

It will be the opening game of the first-full weekend back, with the league scheduled to first resume on June 17, when Aston Villa face Southampton at 6pm, with United’s noisy neighbours also hosting Arsenal at 8pm.

Although the games will be played behind closed doors, anticipation and excitement is growing, with United’s first fixture back promising to produce fireworks.

The Red Devils currently sit four points ahead of Spurs, and just three points behind 4th placed Chelsea. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s were in fine form before lockdown, winning nine of their last eleven games. Should they avoid defeat in North London, the Norwegian will set a new personal unbeaten record with the club (12).

Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford will be available for first team selection, with United now boasting a fully-fit squad. With nine games to go, the fixtures will come thick and fast, and the Red Devils couldn’t have asked for a better opening clash, to get the blood pumping once again.
