Predicted teams: Norwich vs Manchester United (FA Cup)

Manchester United can book their place in the FA Cup semi-final with victory at Carrow Road as the quick turnarounds continue.

Only three days will have passed since comfortably beating Sheffield United when United and Norwich face off on Saturday and United’s quickest route to a trophy this season is the FA Cup.

Solskjær has already hinted that Jesse Lingard might start the game – the midfielder hasn’t played for United since the 3-0 victory away to Derby in the 5th round.

“Jesse [Lingard] has come back from the lockdown with a smile on his feet, loads of energy, last week he fell ill but we’ve done all the tests and he’ll be involved against Norwich now and kick on,” Solskjær said.

“Jesse has scored vital goals for us and been a vital player. Let’s see what the future will hold. He’s looking sharp and focused.”

The Norwegian is expected to name a much changed team from the one which swept aside Sheffield United and will certainly keep one eye on the trip to Brighton on Tuesday.

McTominay, Fred and James all dropped out of the team from the game against Tottenham but are expected to make a return to the starting eleven against Norwich.

McTominay, who recently signed a new five-year deal, was one of the goalscorers in United’s league fixture at Carrow Road. The Scot’s first-half opener was United’s 2000th Premier League goal and he is expected to start the game.

Due to the coronavirus effects and the current heatwave, teams will be allowed to make a sixth substitution should the game go to extra-time.
