Manchester United expecting three youngsters to leave on loan

Experience is an essential trait in football and necessary to progress in an individual’s career. Many of Manchester United’s youth prospects will be itching at the opportunity to get some first-team minutes under their belt, whether this be in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad or elsewhere.

Regarding the young talents of James Garner, Matej Kovar and Dylan Levitt, all are expected to make loan moves within the coming weeks. This is according to the Manchester Evening News, who report that Under-23s boss, Neil Wood, and United head of first team development, Nicky Butt, have given the green light for them to gain first-team experience with a different club.

Accordingly, the story also notes that there has been a vast amount of interest in Garner from The Championship, Swansea City being one possible destination. Some may argue that his record with the Under-23’s of nine goals in 12 appearances has put him in contention to challenge for a first team spot. However, gaining valuable experience in a tough and challenging league will be necessary to his progress.

Kovar is said to have caught the eye from a number of League One clubs, including the likes of Swindon and Doncaster. It will be essential for a player of his calibre to get some game time, being down the pecking order of David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Sergio Romero and Lee Grant. Author of the piece, Dominic Booth, has also noted that Kovar is the closest out of the three to go out on loan first. He has two offers from League One clubs.

Levitt’s only first team appearance came in the Europa League against Astana, so he will be hoping a spell away from the club will be beneficial to him seeing regular action at Old Trafford later on in his career. He will be hoping to continue his positive advancement as a player, being a favourite of Wales manager and United legend, Ryan Giggs.
