Dayot Upamecano confirms transfer talk but insists he is ‘not in a hurry’

Dayot Upamecano is the latest player to have been linked with Manchester United and the interest from both sides seem real.

Reports that United are set to move for the French defender could depend on the future of Chris Smalling but the interest from Solskjær is evident.

Upamecano signed a new contract until 2023 with Leipzig earlier this summer but it hasn’t stopped speculation.

Upamecano, who joined up with the France U21 team ahead of this international break, commented on his future.

“I extended my contract with Leipzig because I feel good with my team-mates,” Upamecano said according to Yahoo Sport.

“My coach is giving me confidence. He’s learning as well, but he gives me confidence and it improves my level.

“I’ve been in Leipzig for more than three years, I feel good. I’ve been in demand, I talked to some clubs, it’s true, but I’m not in a hurry.

“We’ll see what happens in the future.”
