Solskjær provides fitness update on Paul Pogba & Luke Shaw

Paul Pogba tested positive for coronavirus last month but it has now been confirmed that the Frenchman has recovered and returned to training with Manchester United.

Solskjær’s side face Crystal Palace in their opening game of the new Premier League season next week.

“Paul’s [Pogba] had a couple of training sessions so he’s lost out on a few sessions because of the virus, of course. But Paul is quick to get fit. Of course, he worked really hard to get back after lockdown last time and played the majority of the games,” Solskjær said on Friday.

“Hopefully, he’ll be ready for next weekend. I am not 100 per cent sure though.”

It is yet unclear which players will be available for selection next week with some first-team players not in full training yet.

The manager also declared Luke Shaw fit for the new season after the defender missed the end of the last campaign with a troublesome ankle.

“For me, Luke [Shaw] is looking really good in training. He has come back, looking strong, and will play in the friendly against Villa,” Solskjær said.
