Ander Herrera and six more PSG players ruled out of United clash

Ander Herrera is one of seven players who will be absent for Paris Saint-Germain in next weeks Champions League opener.

The Parisians welcome Manchester United to Parc de Princes in what will be a repeat of the thrilling round-of-16 tie just over 18 months ago.

Ander Herrera, who left United for PSG in 2019, has tested positive for coronavirus and has subsequently been ruled out of the game against United.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that the former United midfielder would be missing the game along with six other players.

Julian Draxler, Marquinhos, Marco Verratti, Thilo Kehrer and Mauro Icardi will all sit out due to injury whilst Danilo Pereira, who joined PSG on transfer deadline day, is yet to train with the group.

Pereira was also in contact with his international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, who has tested positive for coronavirus, so it is unlikely that the former Porto midfielder will be available for selection.

Manchester United’s return to the Champions League is on Tuesday is the first of a string of challenging matches for Solskjær’s side as Chelsea, RB Leipzig & Everton all wait in the wings.
