Manchester United are scouring the market for a potential long-term successor to Luke Shaw, and have landed on Lewis Hall as a suitable candidate.
That’s according to Manchester Evening News journalist Tyrone Marshall, who adds that a ‘deal could be done’ to bring in the Newcastle United starlet.

However, with his injury record since joining United in 2014 leaving much to be desired, INEOS understandably harbour concerns over the 30-year-old’s fitness, especially when heading into a campaign where Champions League football will be back in the schedule for the first time since 2023.
That’s why club chiefs are looking to be ahead of the curve by acquiring Shaw’s long-term replacement early doors – perhaps even as early as this summer.

United have been linked with Hall, 21, on numerous occasions in recent months, so there’s certainly some substance to the speculation.

Newcastle will be doing their utmost to keep hold of the youngster, but reports have suggested that a bid in the region of £70 million would essentially force them into facilitating a deal.
Hall made the permanent move to St. James’ Park from Chelsea, where he was a graduate of Cobham academy, in the summer of 2023 for a £35m package.
Making the switch to Old Trafford in the coming months would allow the full-back to continue playing in the Champions League, which Newcastle are unable to offer after finishing 12th last term.

He is contracted to the Tyneside outfit until June 2029.
