Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly set to spend another campaign at Trabzonspor.
The 30-year-old spent two miserable campaigns at Old Trafford between 2023 and 2025, failing to justify the £47.5 million the club spent to buy him from Inter Milan.

Andre Onana to extend his time at Trabzonspor
Following Senne Lammens’ arrival at Man Utd last summer, Onana became surplus to requirements and ended up signing for Trabzonspor on loan.
Aside from occasional blunders, the former Ajax goalkeeper had a relatively positive experience in Turkiye. Therefore, Trabzonspor’s president, Ertugrul Dogan, promised to try to keep Onana at the club.
The patron has apparently succeeded in his mission, as A Spor journalist, Yunus Emre Sel, revealed on Thursday that the Cameroonian international has accepted the Turkish club’s financial offer.

The source adds that the shot-stopper will thus spend another year on loan at Trabzonspor, suggesting that an agreement with Man Utd had already been found.
Why this move makes sense for Man Utd
At this stage, it is abundantly clear that United have no desire to keep Onana among their ranks. However, selling the custodian on a permanent basis remains a daunting task due to his relatively high book value, not to mention his lucrative salary.
Therefore, it appears that Onana is heading down Jadon Sancho’s road. The Englishman signed a five-year deal when he joined Man Utd in the summer of 2021 for £80 million, but he spent the last two and a half years on loan and will now leave as a free agent.
