Manchester United ‘expect’ Altay Bayindir to leave this summer and return to his native Turkey when the World Cup is over, as per Samuel Luckhurst.
The goalkeeper was called up to represent his nation on football’s biggest stage, but has been an unused option for their two group-stage fixtures thus far.
Altay Bayindir endures early World Cup heartbreak with Turkey
Unfortunately for Bayindir and his compatriots, they became the first European team to be eliminated from the tournament after suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of Australia and Paraguay.
Their clash with one of the hosts, the United States, on Friday is now simply a dead rubber, providing them with the chance to exit the competition on a high.
After taking some time to rest and recuperate with his family, Bayindir will then report back to Carrington in July – if his exit hasn’t already been negotiated.
Bayindir to leave United after three years
The 28-year-old has played his last game for United and will depart before entering the final season of his contract.
He was granted a starting role at the very beginning of the term due to Andre Onana falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim, but failed to leave a positive lasting impression.

In the six Premier League appearances Bayindir made, he conceded 11 goals and didn’t keep a single clean sheet.
It prompted INEOS to enter the market in the dying embers of the transfer window, which saw them swiftly agree an £18.1 million deal for Senne Lammens.
After making his debut in a 2-0 win over Sunderland, the Belgian secured his spot as United’s No.1, and his efforts led to him being named the division’s Transfer of the Season.
