Manchester United are preparing to welcome Colombian teenager Cristian Orozco, who is expected to land on Sunday.
The 17-year-old is a defensive midfielder who began his career at the academy of Rojo FC, before moving to Fortaleza CEIF in the summer of 2025.
However, his experience at the new club proved short-lived, as the Man Utd scouts were quick to spot him and convince the management to secure his signature.
Cristian Orozco will arrive at Man Utd on Sunday
In October 2025, several reliable sources confirmed that Man Utd had reached an agreement with Fortaleza over Orozco’s transfer, with the Colombian club expected to receive a €1 million compensation.
The Red Devils also agreed personal terms with the teenager’s entourage, but he was too young to sign for the club in January.
Nevertheless, Orozco will turn 18 next month, making him eligible to join the Red Devils.
According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Orozco will be in Manchester on Sunday. He is expected to undergo his medical before officially signing for the Premier League giants.
“Cristian Camilo Orozco (17) will travel this Sunday alongside Giuseppe Antonaccio, the Chief Scout of Man Utd, to Manchester to undergo medical exams and be officially announced,” posted Sierra on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Interestingly, the journalist reveals that Orozco will initially join Man Utd’s U21 squad, coached by Adam Lawrence.

What to expect from Orozco at Man Utd?
At this stage of his career, Orozco is probably too young and green for a role with the first team, despite his great promise.
It should also be remembered that Colombian isn’t only changing clubs, but will fly over the ocean, and will thus have to adjust to a whole new football culture, not to mention the weather. Fellow South American teenager, Diego Leon, has yet to fulfil his promise.
Orozco has been described as a midfielder with ‘leadership’ skills who tends to operate in deep positions. Therefore, if he can reach his full potential, perhaps he’ll be Man Utd’s next No.6.
