Amad Diallo: The state of play
Amad is currently plying his trade at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast, having started twice and been brought off the bench once as his nation won two of their three group-stage matches.
Their opening triumph over Ecuador came courtesy of the Red, as he found the back of the net with almost the final kick of the game to clinch a crucial three points to kick off their campaign.
Côte d’Ivoire will face Norway in the Round of 32 tomorrow night, so Amad will be crossing his fingers and doing his utmost to replicate his contribution to try and advance even further in the competition.

How Amad fared in lead-up to World Cup
Prior to the tournament getting underway, the 23-year-old oversaw a particularly quiet end to 2025/2026 at club level.
Although he assisted in the 3-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on the final day, before that outing, he had not registered a single goal contribution since before jetting off to the African Cup of Nations at the end of December 2025.
United will be hoping that Amad can put his WC experiences to good use when 2026/2027 gets underway by finding and maintaining his best form.
