Manchester United are among Felix Nmecha’s suitors this summer as they continue planning their midfield rebuild.
INEOS have already taken the first step in their overhaul by agreeing a £35 million fee for Atalanta’s Ederson.
United considering Nmecha after Mateus Fernandes snub
Now, their attention can be turned to other targets.
It was confirmed yesterday afternoon that the Red Devils would be missing out on Mateus Fernandes, who is poised to sign for Tottenham Hotspur in an £85m deal.

Fernandes himself was open to making the switch to Old Trafford, but West Ham were holding out to sell to the highest bidder, and he was reportedly offered ‘silly money’ to make the move.
United did have the chance to match Spurs’ offer on Tuesday morning, though they declined after deeming the sum far too exorbitant.
Nmecha eyeing Premier League switch
Still, there are plenty of alternatives being considered, and Nmecha is certainly one.
The Athletic has revealed that the 25-year-old, who began his career in Manchester City’s academy, is a player Jason Wilcox ‘knows well’ and that he is ‘believed to want a Premier League move’.

Newcastle United are also said to be among his suitors, though only the Reds can offer him the chance to play in the Champions League next season, which may be a deal-breaker.
On Monday night, Nmecha suffered World Cup heartbreak as Germany exited the tournament in the Round of 32 following a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
He was one of the side’s standout performers throughout their campaign, returning a goal and two assists in the four appearances he made.

United may now be considering how they can use Germany’s relatively premature knockout to their advantage by making a formal approach to the Borussia Dortmund star.
Nmecha will presumably be granted a short break to rest and recuperate before reporting for pre-season sometime this month – if his departure hasn’t already been green-lit by that point.
