Manchester United are interested in signing the Swiss international midfielder Johan Manzambi.
According to a Daily Mail report, they are keen on signing the 20-year-old but will face competition from Newcastle United. Mansa has been outstanding for Switzerland in the ongoing World Cup, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
He has helped them reach the round of 16 of the World Cup so far, and they will face Colombia in their next game.
Johan Manzambi could be a star
There is no doubt that he is a phenomenal young talent with a bright future, and Manchester United could use someone like him in the middle of the park. He can drive the team forward, he has the technical ability to create opportunities for his teammates, and he will add control and composure in the middle of the park as well. Even though he’s a young player, he has huge potential for development and could establish himself as a future star with the right guidance.
Manchester United have secured a return to the Champions League, and they need quality midfielders in order to do well next year. Signing the 20-year-old would be a step in the right direction.
Can Man United convince Manzambi?
They are certainly a more attractive destination compared to Newcastle, and they have the financial resources to get the deal done as well. It remains to be seen whether SC Freiburg is willing to sanction the departure of the 20-year-old. It will not be an easy deal, and the German club will demand a premium. His performances in the World Cup will only inflate his transfer value.
Manzambi could fancy a big move as well. The opportunity to play for Manchester United will be hard to turn down for the young midfielder.
