Barcelona have submitted their opening £17 million offer for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, meaning Marcus Rashford’s hopes of a Camp Nou return have taken yet another hit.
According to Sport, Rashford returning to the Blaugrana next season will be officially off the table if Adeyemi signs in the coming days.

Barcelona snub Rashford once again to pursue Adeyemi
Dortmund were planning to hold out for a fee in the region of £34m for the attacker, but given he has just 11 months left on his contract, they may feel inclined to take what they can get this summer.
Should Barcelona’s current proposal be accepted, it would increase their spending on wingers to around £87m following their acquisition of Anthony Gordon for £70m.
However, the Catalan giants opted against shelling out a very fair £26m for Rashford when his buy option was still active.
The 28-year-old returned 14 goals and 14 assists for the club last season during his season-long loan, but his efforts were clearly not enough to be rewarded with a long-term deal.

Rashford now looking nailed-on for United return
Alas, the likelihood of Rashford reviving his Red Devils career has increased.

Rashford’s complete record for United
Definitive decisions over his future will have to wait until he’s done at the World Cup, where he’s now preparing for England’s quarter-final clash with Norway on Saturday night.
Last month, it was revealed that the Carrington graduate’s contract contains a £40m release clause for any club to activate except arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
As things stand, no side has shown any indication they will take United up on the offer, with Rashford’s £325,000-a-week wages thought to be a deterrent.
He is tied to United until June 2028.
