Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Andrey Santos has signed for Manchester United on Friday afternoon.
After struggling to secure some of their other targets, such as Elliot Anderson, Mateus Fernandes, and Aurelien Tchouameni, the Premier League giants turned to the Chelsea midfielder.
While INEOS officials were expecting tough negotiations, they were surprised by the Blues’ lenient stance, as they almost immediately agreed to sell Santos after receiving a £50 million bid.

Following Wednesday’s club-to-club agreement, the 22-year-old was given the green light to undergo his Man Utd medical, which he passed on Thursday.
Earlier today, it was reported that Santos had arrived at Carrington and held brief talks with Michael Carrick, who explained to the player where he’ll fit within his plans.
On Friday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Brazilian midfielder has penned his contract, so the club will soon release an official statement confirming their first summer signing.

Santos set to become Man Utd’s first summer signing
In recent weeks, Atalanta’s Ederson was expected to become the first player to sign for the Red Devils this summer following a £39 million agreement between the two clubs.
However, the 27-year-old’s move has been held up by an inconclusive first medical. Hence, United have decided that the player should undergo a more thorough second medical before deciding whether or not to proceed with the transfer.
With Ederson’s move either delayed or cancelled, Santos will become the first official Man Utd signing, but he certainly won’t be the last.
The Brazilian international will be followed by another two midfielders, in addition to Welsh goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who should replace wantaway Altay Bayindir as Senne Lammens’ understudy.
United are also expected to bolster their left flank with at least one new addition, whether a winger like Crysencio Summerville or a left-back like Neco Williams.
