Bournemouth are actively trying to tie down Alex Scott to a long-term deal amid growing interest this summer.
However, they are yet to succeed in their attempts, which may lead to them reluctantly facilitating a sale this year in order to prevent him leaving for nothing in 2028, as per Ben Jacobs (via The United Stand).

Manchester United have been linked with Scott on numerous occasions in recent months, particularly after they missed out on Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes.
They have since secured the arrivals of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa, both of whom cost less (£83 million in total) than what Tottenham Hotspur paid for Fernandes (£85m).
Yet, there is an acknowledgement on INEOS’ part that another midfielder is vital if Michael Carrick is to really be equipped with a squad capable of competing on all fronts next season.

He signed for Bournemouth from Bristol City for £25m back in 2023, having rebuffed interest from some big six suitors to gain top-flight experience as a regular starter at the Vitality Stadium – and he’s since done exactly that.

Scott has played a pivotal role at the heart of Andoni Iraola’s history-making Cherries squad, which went from strength to strength during the campaigns he was at the helm.
His tenure concluded back in May as Bournemouth qualified for Europe for the first-ever time, while also setting their highest Premier League points record.
Given he took to Iraola’s management and system like a duck to water, it remains to be seen if Scott will be keen on sticking around to kickstart an entirely new era under Marco Rose.
