Crysencio Summerville has reportedly green-lit an imminent transfer to AS Roma from West Ham.
According to one reputable Italian journalist, an agreement on the player’s transfer fee is now all that’s missing from the deal.

West Ham had conceded heading into the summer that they would have to facilitate the departures of several key men, including Summerville and Mateus Fernandes.
However, it’s been confirmed today that Jarrod Bowen will definitely be staying throughout their first season in the Championship, which will come as a major boost to the Irons faithful.
As for Summerville, he has been linked with a move elsewhere since the end of the 2025/2026 campaign, with Manchester United among a handful of suitors considering approaches.

Why United shortlisted Summerville
United identified the 24-year-old as an ideal replacement for Marcus Rashford when it was assumed he would be leaving Old Trafford permanently this summer.
That’s now looking less likely due to Barcelona opting against signing him, as well as the fact that his £40 million release clause expired on Wednesday.

Summerville boasts three full seasons’ worth of top-flight experience thanks to his spells with West Ham and Leeds United, but is now eyeing a switch abroad to Serie A.

He has seemingly finalised personal terms with Roma before United even materialised their interest with an approach to West Ham.
The attacker is on the back of an impressive World Cup campaign with the Netherlands, where he returned four goal contributions in four games, so it’s no surprise Roma have looked to act fast and get an agreement over the line.

It remains to be seen if INEOS will react to the news with an offer of their own, although it would hinge on Rashford being offloaded, which is looking increasingly unlikely.
