Chelsea have identified former youth prospect Lewis Hall as an ideal replacement for Marc Cucurella.
However, the Newcastle United star is said to favour a move to Manchester United instead, according to TeamTalk.

Cucurella, who played an integral role in Spain being crowned world champions yesterday, departed Stamford Bridge for the Santiago Bernabeu last month in a £51.8 million switch.
A replacement has yet to be sought, hence the Blues turning their sights onto one of their academy graduates.

Hall joined Newcastle back in 2024 following the conclusion of an impressive season-long loan stint, spelling the end of his 12-year association with the Blues.
Newcastle agreed a deal worth £35m (£28m plus £7m in add-ons) to add the defender to their ranks, and subsequently tied him down to a five-year contract at St. James’ Park.
Hall favours United move over any other club
Yet, those terms could well be coming to an end prematurely.
Hall is said to have his heart set on a move to Old Trafford, where he would be able to play Champions League football in 2026/2027.

Neither Chelsea nor the Magpies qualified for any European competition for the campaign ahead, so both are in for a relatively quiet nine months between Premier League and cup fixtures.
21-year-old Hall also reportedly holds grievances towards manager Eddie Howe for how he was utilised throughout the closing stages of 2025/2026, which led to him missing out on a World Cup call-up with England.
While Newcastle have no desire to part ways with the highly-rated youngster, it’s thought that a bid in the region of £60m would be enough to force their hand.
