Manchester United are considering signing a centre-forward to ease the burden on Benjamin Sesko next season, according to Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic.
Currently, the 23-year-old is still recovering from the shin injury that ended his maiden campaign prematurely.

Benjamin Sesko: The state of play
Sesko missed the final three Premier League matches of 2025/2026 after sustaining a problem in the win over Liverpool at Old Trafford on May 3.
He had scored United’s second goal in the clash, but was later barged off the field and into the advertising boards by Ibrahima Konate.
The frontman saw out the remainder of the first half before being hooked at the interval and replaced by Amad Diallo. Little did fans know, it spelt the end of Sesko’s season.
Even still, he can certainly hold his head high over the impact he had across his first nine months in England – particularly during Michael Carrick’s reign.

In the 32 appearances he made in all competitions, the Slovenian international returned 12 goals. In the Premier League alone, he notched 11 goals and an assist in 1,637 minutes of action.

Sesko has endured a quiet summer due to his nation failing to qualify for the World Cup, so it goes without saying that he’ll be chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch.

Unfortunately, he has been made to wait even longer than the rest of his teammates at Carrington, who made the trip to Finland last week to kick off United’s pre-season preparations.
It remains to be seen if he will join up with the squad in the coming days. If not, he still has a full month to reach match fitness and ensure he’s 100% ready for United’s 2026/2027 opener away to newly promoted Hull City on August 22.
