Manchester United are reportedly plotting how they can capitalise on Newcastle United’s summer of change by pursuing Lewis Hall.
David Ornstein confirmed in a shock update this morning that Eddie Howe had informed the Magpies board of his decision to leave with immediate effect, spelling the end of his five-year tenure at St. James’ Park.

Howe the latest addition to a string of key Newcastle exits
It comes after a turbulent few months for Newcastle, which started with them missing out on any European competition by finishing 12th last season.
Since the transfer window opened, the Tyneside outfit have reluctantly sanctioned the departures of two of their most key starters in the form of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are actively targeting their talisman Bruno Guimaraes, who has made it clear he’d be open to making the move to the Emirates.

United looking to add to Magpies woes with Hall pursuit
While Newcastle finalise the arrival of Howe’s replacement, Matthias Jaissle of Al Ahli, United may look to test the club’s resolve with a lucrative proposal for Hall.

They have been monitoring the 21-year-old for some time now, having identified him as an ideal long-term successor to Luke Shaw.
The Magpies have maintained that Hall is not for sale, but they held the same stance for the majority of last summer before Alexander Isak forced his transfer to Liverpool.
Now that Guimaraes has made clear his desire to also leave, you couldn’t blame the likes of Hall for following suit, given the current situation that the club is facing isn’t the most encouraging for supporters.
United can offer the England international, hailed as ‘one of the best left-backs in the world’, an immediate return to the Champions League ahead of 2026/2027, as well as playing an integral role in Michael Carrick’s rebuild in M16.
